Jobs Butler FC
16/10/2022
โฝ๏ธ Boys Battle in Barton ๐ North Ferriby Sporting draw their forth game of the season away against league outfit Jobs Butler. Jobs Butler came up through a successful season last year in Div 3, winning the league (I think), their quality and ability showed through today. The match was moved from Gower Park to Baysgarth School 4G, a huge improvement. NFS welcomed Gilbey, Ward, Moor and Winter into the squad for their competitive debuts, with a few players injured or missing. NFS started well but after a few loose passes struggled to retain possession from a strong Butler side. NFS made the break through, a ball out wide to Manterfield who fired across goal and score in off the post. 0-1. Minutes later, NFS doubled the lead, a long ball heading straight to Manterfield, only for him to let it pass for Richardson to latch onto, round the keeper and score. 0-2. Jobs Butler began to control the game and had a good spell, breaking beyond the NFS midfield and baring down on our back four. Their hard work was rewarded, a ball into the strikers feet, who spun on the spot, only to be fouled by the NFS defender. Apparently dubious, but penalty awarded and dispatched. 1-2. Half time 1-2. Jobs Butler started the second half the brighter, dancing feet from the opposing midfielder, rounded the defence and keeper to equalise. 2-2. NFS players began to drop through injury, with all subs coming on early in the second half. Jobs Butler didn't let up as they scored their third. A simple corner and towering header at the back post. 3-2. With less than 10mins on the clock and signs of Butler tiring, Fulton made a run down the wing, attracting defence only to square across the box to substitute Ward to slot home. 3-3. Full time 3-3 ๐ The Pete Burgess MOTM - James Dunning Managers Comments: Tough game today against a tough opposition, they will do well in this league and their quality in midfield will cause teams across the league problems. Our graft and hard work was exceptional in the first half and deserving of our lead, when three of the back four come off with injurys and niggles, it became difficult. Delighted with a point and very happy with all involved. We look forward to entertaining Humber Colts next weekend in the Presidents Cup. โ๏ธSponsored by: ๐ Bikeliner Travel and Coaches ๐ Fraternity Barbers Beverley ๐ Firepit Smokehouse and Bar

AFC Cottingham
25/09/2022
โฝ๏ธ Five for the Family ๐ North Ferriby Sporting won their second game of the season against AFC Cottingham for the annual family day. NFS made two changes from last week with Lakes and Horth coming into the squad. NFS started the brighter with pressure on the Cottingham defence leading to numerous corners. Collins got the opener with a superb header, rising well to head home from a Kinsley cross. 1-0. Cottingham soon equalised, a poor defensive clearance lead to a Cottingham chance and dispatched. 1-1. NFS thought they got a free kick following a foul on Porter, but the referee waved play on, which caught the defence out of position, Cottingham capitalised and scored. 1-2. Richardson got his first of the morning after a super ball through from Fulton, Richardson beat his man and slotted bottom corner. 2-2. Half time 2-2. NFS made one change at the half, aa club captain Heaton limped off at half time with injury handing the armband to vice captain Fulton. Cottingham took the lead again, with their third, after cross came into the box, ricochet off an NFS shin into the path of the away strike to score. 2-3. Fulton got the equaliser from the penalty spot, after chasing down and ball into the corner, only to be judged to be fouled by the oncoming keeper. 3-3. Couple of subs the two newbies Horth and Lakes come on, hoping to make an impact. Fulton picked up the ball around 25 yards out, after a maisie run and appear to lose control of the ball, only.for it to fall into the path of Richardson to slot away. 4-3. Richardson got the fifth and his hattrick after Horth played the ball in behind the defenders, Richardson did the rest. Horth replicated the same ball, in behind the defender for Richardson to latch onto, this time the keeper kicked out and missed the ball. Horth stepped up, but was saved easily after a poor effort. Cottingham got one back with less than a minute on the clock, chucking bodies forward. Ferriby stood firm for all three points. Full time 5-4. ๐ The Pete Burgess MOTM - Cameron Richardson Managers Comments: Superb battling performance today, AFC Cottingham have a lot of top players and it showed. After a fair few missing today, regardless of the performance, three points were needed, even it was to be smash and grab. After a few new signings in the summer, its exciting to see the squad take shape but plenty of tough games ahead. โ๏ธSponsored by: ๐ Bikeliner Travel and Coaches ๐ Fraternity Barbers Beverley ๐ Firepit Smokehouse and Bar

The lads responded with a fourth of the afternoon, with new signing Richardson getting his first goal. 2-4. West Hull pushed back again, making it 3-4 and squeaky bum time for our lads. Fulton sealed the game with his second of the morning, engineering the chance himself and dispatching for all three points. 3-5. Full time. 3-5 ๐ The Pete Burgess MOTM - Mikey Fulton Managers Comments: Always nice to start the season with a win, delighted with the attacking players causing issue's and getting goals. Still plenty to work on and on a better pitch, we could have excelled further. Onto next week which is against Afc Cottingham at home. โ๏ธSponsored by: ๐ Bikeliner Travel and Coaches ๐ Fraternity Barbers Beverley ๐ Firepit Smokehouse and Bar
Drum FC
21/08/2022
โฝ๏ธ Beat of the DRUM ๐ฅ North Ferriby Sporting lost their last pre season home fixture against Premier Division side Drum FC. Coming off the back of a midweek win, NFS rotated the squad with only two players that started in the mid-week fixture. NFS competed well for the first ten minutes, but couldn't capitalise. Drum go ahead early on with a ball into the striker who slotted away. 0-1. Dennis came off with a dead leg after 25 mins and his replacement Puckering, got the ball under and played Fulton through to dispatch. 1-1. NFS pushed on with bodies to a counter attack and moments later conceded from Drum capitalising from the spaces and committed bodies. 1-2. Half time. 1-2. A rollocking from the NFS, reminder to cut out silly errors and to go forward and play areas more. Drum move players around and started to create more chances and opportunities. Drum got their third from a goalmouth scramble, NFS failed to clear and Drum striker stuck away. 1-3. Drum kept pushing and got their fourth, with gaps opening up and the long ball causing issues for NFS. 1-4. NFS got one back, the ball bounced to Manterfield who lofted forward to the path of Fulton who got his second. 2-4. Drum got the last of the game and settled any late comeback of hope. 2-5. Full time. 2-5. ๐ The Pete Burgess MOTM - Rob Talbot Managers Comments: Always going to be a tough game against a team two divisions above, we should have taken our chances and opportunities when they came, which could have made the difference. We gave them too much respect and allowed them to play, which with their quality was going to end in defeat. A good run out nonetheless and a good opportunity to see which lads kept going and who gave up. โ๏ธSponsored by: ๐ Bikeliner Travel and Coaches ๐ Fraternity Barbers Beverley ๐ Firepit Smokehouse and Bar
Withernsea FC
17/08/2022
โฝ๏ธ Seven by the Sea ๐ North Ferriby Sporting won victorious in their sixth pre season fixture away at Withernsea FC. NFS started awfully, going behind after 70seconds, a defensive and GK mix up and the striker tapped home. 1-0. New signing Puckering made it all square after an outstanding strike from 40 yards beating the Withernsea keeper. 1-1. Commence the Williamson brothers show, a fantastic cross field ball from A Williamson (AW), found M Williamson (MW), to head goal-bound, saved but finished the rebound.1-2. Withernsea were struggling with set pieces and the aerial threat of NFS, a long throw from Heaton, was hit goal-bounds by AW, only to ricochet off his brother MW to get his hattrick. 2-5. Half time 2-5. No changes at the half and Withernsea got one back, a lapse of concentration and mistimed tackle/clearance, the striker was through and dispatched neatly . 3-5. Puckering got his third after an AW cross into the box. 3-6. Puckering who started at centre half, was really affecting the game with his antics and winding up the oppositions GK. After AW chased down a GK clearance, it appeared and sounded like the Withernsea GK kicked out at the NFS player and a penalty was awarded. Fulton stepped up, but it was well saved, the GK had redeemed himself, for now. Fulton got the seventh goal for Ferriby as the ball was played through for Fulton chase, the keeper flew out almost to the half way line and Fulton hit it first time into the empty net. 3-7. Just before the end, Withernsea got another one back, a super strike from just outside the box, leaving the keeper no chance. 4-7. Full time 4-7. ๐ The Pete Burgess MOTM - Jack Puckering Managers Comments: A super performance from the lads tonight, the game had it all, passion, desire, work rate and moments on brilliance. Delighted to see the lads work as a team and get stuck in. Thank you to Withernsea for the game, when their opportunities to shoot came, they didn't disappoint. vs Little Weighton
10/07/2022
โฝ๏ธ Heat Hampers Home Win โ๏ธ North Ferriby Sporting lost their opening game of the new season with a 4-2 defeat to Afc Little Weighton. In what felt like Carribean heat, LW were the much fitter and mobile side. NFS spurned chances throughout the game and struggled with the heat and energy of the opposition. Trialist A scored the NFS equaliser after going behind and A.Williamson scored a well placed free kick in the final minutes of the game. A lot to learn and work on, but a lot of positives for the new campaign. ๐ The Pete Burgess MOTM - Ben Collins โ๏ธSponsored by: ๐ Bikeliner Coaches ๐ Fraternity Barbers Beverley ๐ Firepit Smokehouse and Bar
